Overview of the TP-S15 Lab Spray Dryer Delivery

The TP-S15 unit with the main drying system, Glass parts, and Standard accessories has been delivered. The device will arrive as a fully equipped laboratory spray drying equipment.

Assembly of the primary functional modules has been done, which will minimize the time spent on setting up the equipment after delivery. The space occupied by the system remains small, making it ideal for laboratories with restricted space. Approximate dimensions are 800 × 600 × 1300 mm, and the total system weight is 125 kg.

The delivery contains the documents related to the system's operations and a Manual of Quick Installation. These documents will help onboard the laboratory personnel quickly.

Designed for Applications of Spray Drying in Laboratories

Laboratory-Scale Use

The TP-S15 lab spray dryer is ideal for laboratory research activities that require controlled drying. Some of the activities include formulation testing, material screening, and drying trials during initial development phases.

Material Compatibility

This laboratory spray dryer applies only the aqueous solution material; the organic solvent is disabled.

Stable Temperature and Feed Control

  • The inlet air temperature control range is 50 to 300°C. Operators can adjust the inlet temperature through the touchscreen interface. The outlet air temperature typically operates in the 80 to 90°C range, depending on inlet settings and feed conditions.

  • The feed rate is controlled via a peristaltic pump, and the maximum feed capacity is 2000 ml/h. With this configuration, the system is able to limit the amount of dry materials that are introduced to the chamber.

  • Also used in this system is a 3 kW electric heater and a 0.2 kW draught fan, which work in conjunction to provide stable airflow and thermals.

Key Technical Configuration

  • The integrated atomizer provides efficient and uniform drying, while the drying chamber, made of glass, provides the ability to visually monitor the experiments. The glass collection bottle provides for a clean sample recovery, while the cyclone separator effectively dries and collects the materials.

  • Integrated into the unit is a built-in air compressor that operates at a working pressure of 2-3 bars. The unit's maximum gas production of 4.2 m³/h provides for stable and consistent atomization.

  • With a diameter of 1.0 mm, the nozzle is ideal for most laboratory drying tasks. When conditions are optimal, the maximum capacity for evaporated water is 2000mL/H.

User Operation Interface

  • The TP-S15 is equipped with a touch control interface that operates in English and Chinese, which promotes the accessibility of the system to multinational laboratory teams.

  • The logic of the system is such that for a given operation, the user must start the fan and subsequently activate the heater. This is a safety measure, as the heater will not turn on in the absence of airflow. Once the desired temperature is reached, the user is then able to activate the air and peristaltic pumps.

  • This interface enables direct adjustment of fan speed, feed rate, and temperature settings. Operators can fine-tune parameters during experiments without halting the system.

  • A nozzle cleaning function helps reduce clogging risk during extended operation.

Delivery, Installation, and Setup

  • Key glass components such as the drying chamber, cyclone separator, and the components for the sample collector are included in the TP-S15 delivery. All glass components must be handled with care during installation.

  • The installation is modular, and all components interconnect via clamps, screw connectors, and sealed modules.

  • After installation, users can conduct preliminary tests with water to check for proper operation of the air flow, temperature control, and the feed rate. Test materials can then be added.
