Recent Shipment: 5L Glass Fermentation Tank (Multi-Parameter Controlled System)
We have finished construction and shipping of a 5L glass fermentation tank system designed for repeatable laboratory bioprocessing activities. This system comes equipped with monitoring and control for temperature, agitation, airflow, pH, and dissolved oxygen (DO) monitoring, foaming, and anti-foaming. Also included are sterile air management and a mechanical foam-breaking impeller for effective foam control. The controller features automatic data logging as well as batch record keeping. Reports are USB exportable for method development, technology transfer, and scale-up documentation.

Shipment Summary

Location: UAE
Configuration: 5L glass fermentation tank system

What's Included in the 5L Glass Fermentation System
- Multi-parameter cell monitoring, control, and management: temperature, 30–1000 rpm speed control of the mixer, 0–10 L/min airflow (manually adjusted via a rotameter), pH 2.00–12.00, dissolved Oxygen (DO) measurement range: 0–100% (control strategy depends on configuration, typically via agitation and aeration).
- Air management system: filtered and purified air → air filter → fermentation vessel; exhausted through a foam condenser and an exhaust filter.
- Foam control: mechanical foam-breaking impeller + antifoam control logic.
Key Specifications Snapshot
- 5 L of total volume.
- Agitation (mixing) control is 30–1000 rpm (via a variable frequency drive).
- Control/Display of Airflow: 0-10 L/min (rotameter).
- pH range: 2.00-12.00; DO: 0-100%.

Sterilization Workflow (Autoclave-Ready)
The 5L glass fermenter and feed bottles are autoclave-ready. Before sterilization, connect the sampling line, install the inlet air filter, keep the exhaust line unblocked, and mount the pH/DO probes with protective caps. Remove the condenser water hoses and replace the motor with the sterilization cover. Autoclave according to your medium requirements. After the cycle, reinstall the vessel immediately, start sterile airflow, and set aeration to 2–3 L/min for cooldown and positive pressure protection.
Fermentation Operation: Practical, Lab-friendly Steps
- Inoculation: Airflow should be 2-3 L/min, remove the inoculation port and put under a sterile protection flame ring; add inoculum, and reseal.
- Feeding & additions: For acid/alkali/antifoam, use a peristaltic pump and sterile tubing, and then dose and line prime as needed.
- Sampling & discharge: Pipe the tubing to the bottle and unclamp the spring; you may use the vessel pressure to assist sampling if needed; then reclose the clamp.
Control System And Data Traceability (HND-BIO6000)
- Start-up & monitoring: On the touchscreen, log in to access real-time monitoring.
- Setting of Parameters: Set temperature targets; input agitation 30-1000 rpm; set manual/auto antifoam toggle; adjust pH targets and control mode; configure feeding parameters with flow and total amount.
- Preparing for Calibration: Guides for pH zero/slope and DO 0/100; temperature correction field for minor adjustments.
- Reports: The controller logs process data automatically every 5 minutes and supports USB export by time range or batch number.
- Alarms: Threshold-based alarms can be enabled/disabled from the alarms page.
Safety & Care Notes (for Glass Vessel Systems)
- Grounding: Check for a reliable grounding before use.
- Glass care: Do not exceed the maximum working pressure (0.06 MPa). Avoid collisions with hard objects; inspect common hoses more frequently and replace them at least once a year.
- Post-run: Turn off tap water and air; power down from the main menu before switching off.
What This Shipment Enables

FAQ
Q1: What parameters can this 5L glass fermenter monitor and control?
A1: This fermenter can monitor and control the following parameters: temperature, speed of agitation, airflow, pH, dissolved oxygen, feeding, and anti-foam.
Q2: How is the sterilization handled?
A2: The system uses an autoclave method with specific instructions for line, cap, and motor removal, and for post-sterilization airflow at 2-3 L/min.
Q3: Can I export run data for records?
A3: Yes, the controller logs data every 5 minutes, and time-range or batch selection is available for USB export.
Q4: What pressure limits should I follow?
A4: Vessel operating pressure must not exceed 0.06 MPa (maximum working pressure). Inlet air supply pressure should be regulated and kept within the specified limit, while ensuring the vessel pressure remains ≤ 0.06 MPa.
Q5: Does the system support pH/DO calibration?
A5: Yes, it provides instructions for the zero/slope for pH and 0/100 for DO calibration on the touchscreen.
