The Science of Spray Drying
- Due to the large surface area of the droplet clusters, the drying time required for materials is extremely short (measured in seconds).
- Within the high-temperature gas stream, the temperature of surface-wetted materials does not exceed the wet-bulb temperature of the drying medium. Rapid drying ensures the final product temperature remains low, significantly preserving nutrients and active components.
- Streamlined process flow. Solutions can be directly converted into powdered products within the drying tower. Furthermore, spray drying facilitates mechanization and automation, reduces dust dispersion, and improves working conditions.
From Lab to Industrial Scale: Our Spray Dryer Series
Our product portfolio spans small lab-scale spray dryers, pilot-scale spray dryers, and large industrial production spray dryers, catering to varying throughput requirements.
Our equipment also includes two-fluid nozzles for uniform droplet distribution and centrifugal atomizers capable of handling feedstocks up to 300 cP. Centrifugal atomizers utilize a high-speed rotating disc that generates uniform droplets through centrifugal force. At higher feed rates and disc speeds, the liquid forms unstable filaments that ultimately break down into uniform droplets. Two-fluid nozzles atomize feedstock using compressed air (0.3-0.7 MPa). Friction between the high-velocity gas stream and the slow-moving liquid creates extremely fine particles.
