Short path (simple) distillation is a novel separation technology capable of addressing challenges beyond the scope of conventional distillation methods. It enables "liquid-liquid" separation under vacuum conditions at temperatures significantly below the boiling point of liquids. This technique is particularly well-suited for the separation and purification of high-boiling-point, heat-sensitive, and oxidation-prone materials.
The 100 L TDS-100L is perfect for scale-up when the available space and budget are limited.

A1: It is challenging, but possible. For example, to raise the ethyl palmitate: palmitic acid ratio from 9:1 to 96% purity, about 10–20% of the material must be distilled out. Customers are encouraged to send samples for feasibility testing.
Q2: What is the molecular distillation process for biodiesel?
A2:
Using two-stage molecular distillation, yields range between 85%–90%.
With four stages, yields improve to 90%–95%.
With six stages, yields can reach 93%–96%.
Q3: What is the difference between simple distillation and short-path distillation?

For separating conventional, stable liquids with large differences in boiling points, simple distillation is the preferred choice due to its simplicity and low cost.
